My life is in-turn for the better ever since my last post on here, but sadly, I could not produce any new art or atleast the new art I was working on had to be scrapped on the grounds that I felt it was poor planned work.
Anyway, I joined a gym to get myself to get into shape for better health back in February of last year. I did pretty good, I lost around 40 pounds with 5 inches off my waist, but due to the holiday season, I gained about 10 pounds back or I starting to gain more muscle which it possible.
Back in August of last year, I got a new car, a 2015 Ford C-Max SEL. I love this car!! Pretty roomy for a mid-size hybrid and on the way I drive it, I get around 45 mile per gallon (MPG) to 50 mpg when drive around locally. As for the highway, I get around 41 mpg to 43 mpg. Of course, it is not Toyoda Prius numbers, but the C-Max is more quiet in the cabin area (not alot of road noise). Here it is:
So, I drove this beast down to Naples and to Key West and then back to home here in Oviedo in a course of around 22 hours back at the end of January. All of the cars that I owned, I always did an overnight drive to get my bearings and range on the car especially an hybrid. Also, I found out I get around 500 miles per tank locally and for the highway, I get around 435 miles per tank. So, my overnight trip only cost me only 3 full-up over a 950 mile round trip.
Back in mid-March, I finally did on what I wanted for awhile. I am going back to school to get my Masters degree in Game Design at Full Sail University. I read the criticisms of this school like it cost alot or they are going to burn you out, but that can be said of any college or university. Well, the Game Design Masters is a year long program with the cost of $31,880 (That is lower than UCF which is $33,000) vs the $74,500 for the Game Design Bachelors. Plus, I got their Dedication Scholarship which it takes off $1,000 off the tuition after going through their campus tour and write a 250-word essay. Also, if a student gets 3.0 or better gpa in their first school year (after 8 months), the student gets an additional $500 off and plus, another $500 off the tuition if the student keeps a 100% on their Professional grade.
There are 3 grades that a student gets from each class, GPA (Grade Point Average), PGA (Professional Grade Average, which it is how professional you hold yourself in the class), and lastly, AGA (Attendance Grade Average, need 90% to help to pass the class).
On top of this, Full Sail gives new laptops with software required for all of their students, which they all get on the second day of the Orientation Week. Orientation Week is before the first of classes for all new students. My Orientation Week starts tomorrow at 10 am. Side note, online student do not get their new laptop until the 4th month into their classes.
So, I guess this year is fulled up for me and it good to have a goal again. Also, I plan to find work in the game industry while I am at Full Sail University.
